Abstract

From the Muslim perspective, Islam provides women a position of honor and respect, with clearly stated rights and obligations. The Qur'an affords legal protections in the areas of marriage, divorce, and inheritance that are considered to mark a vast improvement over the situation of women in pre-Islamic society. Islam has given a status to the women. In many societies, a woman is still regarded as a second-class citizen and deprived of various basic rights enjoyed by the male population. The main objective of this research is to highlight the role of Muslim women in the field of Trade and Finance from Muslim History. The Study is divided into two parts, the first part is focusing on the historical perspective we have mentioned the role of five womens i.e. HazratKhadîjabintKhuwailid (R.A.), Hazrat Hind bint 'Uqba (R.A.), HazratZaynab (R.A.), HazratShifa' (R.A.) and HazratIjliyah (R.A). However the second part is devoted to the role of women who have contributed in contemporary Islam Banking Industry as leader, banker, or researcher. The top ten female leaders has been selected in this regards.
