Abstract

Islam has extended its teachings to every scope of life extensively. In particular, the extent to which Islam has reached in regards to the rights of others upon an individual is unmatched in any other religion. Therefore animal-kind, that has been created to serve the humans, have also been given due importance towards their rights. This is evident from the fact that Islam has named the second and largest chapter of the Quran after the name of an animal, 'The Cow'. Within the Quran Allah has talked about animals at several other points, such as, extending an invitation to observe the Camel, Allah the most High has said:

Translation: Do they not ponder over the Camel as in how it has been created. In essence, at multiple points has the Quran shed extensive light upon animals, and Islamic teachings have a very clear vision about the rights of animals upon humans.
